Left-winger Luc Robitaille’s impressive NHL career spanned two decades with him playing for the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings. Luc Robitaille quickly became a valuable member with the Kings organization, scoring 40 plus goals in his first 8 seasons, including three 50 plus goal seasons.
Luc Robitaille was traded to the Penguins where he played for one season followed by a short stint with the Rangers before he was traded back to the Los Angeles Kings. He scored his 500th career goal in 1999 before he was again traded in 2001 to the Red Wings. It was with the Detroit Red Wings, Luc Robitaille won his first Stanley Cup Championship.
Luc Robitaille returned to Los Angeles for a third time as a free agent. He scored his 650th career goal and played his 1000th game in a Kings uniform. Robitaille retired as a King in 2006. His number 20 hangs in the rafters alongside Kings’ Greats-Rogatien Vachon, Marcel Dionne, Dave Taylor and Wayne Gretzky. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside former Detroit teammates Steve Yzerman and Brett Hull; and Rangers teammate Brian Leetch.
Luc Robitaille continues to be part of the Los Angeles Kings organization, serving as President of Operations since 2007. He has since won 2 Stanley Cup Championship in 2012 and 2014.
