Learn More About John Vanbiesbrouck: John Vanbiesbrouck was a popular goaltender that played in the NHL for the New York Rangers, Florida Panthers, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils.  He was first drafted by the Rangers in 1981 but played for their minor affiliate the Tulsa Oilers.  Vanbiesbrouck’s first official season with the Rangers was 1984-85.  That year Vanbiesbrouck won a Vezina Trophy and was a First Team All-Star the next season. In 1993, Vanbiesbrouck was traded to the Florida Panthers and was a huge factor in the Panthers winning the Stanley Cup in 1996. While with Florida, Vanbiesbrouck recorded his 300th career victory, becoming the fifteenth goalie to do so and the second American goalie. Vanbiesbrouck also played on an international level with the United States many times.  He played in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in 1982 and played at four IIHF World Championships.  Vanbiesbrouck also played in two Canada Cups. After his career, Vanbiesbrouck took over as the manager and head coach of the Greyhounds and in 2013 became the general manager of the United States Hockey League's Muskegon Lumberjacks. Learn More about Eddie Giacomin: Ed Giacomin was an NHL goaltender that played during the Original Six Era from 1965 when he made it to the big league to 1978.  He played for the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings. Ed Giacomin overcame many obstacles on his journey to the NHL.  As a teenager, he suffered serious burns to his hands and feet in a kitchen fire and was told he would never play hockey.  Giacomin was even more determined to prove them wrong.  He spent six seasons with the minor league Providence Red before becoming the starting goalie for the New York Rangers, an impressive feat considering there were only six starting goalie positions in the NHL at the time. During Giacomin’s second NHL season, he led the NHL in shutouts and helped the Rangers reach the playoffs for only the second time in nine seasons.  Eddie Giacomin was the Rangers starting goaltender for nine seasons, leading the league in shutouts for three seasons.  He won the Vezina Trophy with partner Gilles Villemure in 1971.  Giacomin spent his last three years as a player with the Detroit Red Wings before retiring in 1978.  He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987 and his number 1 jersey was retired by the Rangers in 1989. Learn More about Bill Gadsby: Bill Gadsby knew from a very young age, he was born to play hockey.  Playing on frozen ponds in his native Calgary until after nightfall, Bill Gadsby left home at the age of 17 to pursue a career on the ice.  He got his lucky break when Chicago Blackhawks scout, Bill Tobin, discovered the talented defenseman and offered him a contract.  After only 12 games in the minors, Gadsby made it to the NHL at the age of 18.  In his debut game, he got a cut to the face that took 12 stitches to close. Gadsby was a solid defenseman, playing for the Blackhawks until 1954 when he was traded to the New York Rangers.  During his tenure with the Rangers, Gadsby was elected to 4 All-Star Games and in 1957-1958, he set a defense record for 46 assists.
