Learn More about Sergei Federov: Sergei Federov was a Russian born hockey player that was regarded as one of the best players in the game.  Federov could do it all:  he had superior speed, excellent puck handling skills and was a gifted playmaker.  He normally played as a forward but also could play defense if needed.  He began his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1990.  He very quickly became a fan favorite with his extraordinary skills and high scoring.  The 1993-1994 season was a career season for Federov where he scored 56 goals and 120 points. In the mid-nineties, Detroit coach Scotty Bowman put Federov on the Russian Five line with  Vyacheslav Kozlov and Igor Larionov as wingers and Slava Fetisov and Vladimir Konstantinov on defence.  This highly effective line essential shut down the opposing teams’ offense and they played a leading role in the three Red Wings Stanley Cup Championships in 1997, 1998 and 2002. Sergei Federov won numerous NHL awards including the Hart Memorial Trophy for MVP (1994), the Lester B. Pearson Award, the Frank J. Learn More about Dino Ciccarelli: Dino Ciccarelli was a gritty winger that played 19 seasons in the NHL despite going undrafted.  Ciccarelli signed a contract with the Minnesota North Stars as a free agent in 1979.  He was called up from the minors for the latter half of the 1980-1981 season where he played in 32 games scoring 18 goals and 30 points.  In the playoffs, the North Stars went all the way to the finals with Ciccarelli contributing 14 goals and 21 points in 19 games.  His solid performance earned him a spot on the North Stars and he built on his rookie success with a team high 55 goals and 106 points in his sophomore season.  He left Minnesota in March of 1989 in a trade to the Washington Capitals.  He had 651 points with the North Stars, 4th in club history. Dino Ciccarelli spent the rest of his career with shorter stints with the Washington Capitals, the Detroit Red Wings, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers.  His gritty “in-your-face” style of hockey helped inspire his team and provided a veteran presence with his later teams.  Upon his retirement in 1999, Ciccarelli had played in 1232 regular season games with 608 goals and 592 assists for 1200 points.  He was ranked ninth in scoring in NHL history.  He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010. Rogie Vachon was traded to the Los Angeles King where he played from 1971 to 1978 where he celebrated some of the best moments of his career.  He was team MVP for 4 consecutive years starting in 1973.  He was runner up for the Vezina Trophy in 1975 and he was selected for NHL Second All-Star Team in 1975 and 1977.  Vachon was considered one of the best one-to-one goaltenders in his era and he never allowed a single goal on a penalty shot for his entire career.  Rogie Vachon was honoured by the Los Angeles Kings as his was the first number retired by the franchise in 1985.  Following his retirement as a player, Rogie Vachon continued to serve the LA Kings as GM from 1984-1992.  He was interim head coach on 3 separate occasions.  Vachon continues to serve as Royal Ambassador for the Kings.
