Learn More About Dale Hunter:

Dale Hunter was a professional ice hockey player, he is now a coach.  He played centre for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche and the Washington Capitals.  Hunter was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in 1979.

Hunter played quite a few seasons with the Nordiques and although he was nicknamed “Nuisance” he was actually a model player.  Hunter was traded to the Capitals in 1987 and many fans saw that as a mistake which led to the decline of the team.

Hunter was also a good player with the Capitals and he served as their team captain.  In 1993, Dale Hunter body checked a player into the boards and he got suspended for the beginning of the 1993-1994 season.  With the Capitals Hunter broke the 1000 points barrier and in 1997, he played for the All-Star Team.

Hunter finished up his career with the Colorado Avalanche, who were the successors of the Nordiques.  After one season with them Hunter retired as a player and became a coach.

Hunter was the head coach of the Washington Capitals but now he is content as the co-owner, president and coach of the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League.
