Learn More about Dave Andreychuk:

Chosen 16th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Dave Andreychuk is known as one of the highest scoring left-wingers in league history, as well as an all-time power play leader with a total of 274 goals.  He played eleven seasons with the Sabres before being traded to Toronto where he played until the 1995-1996 season.  He then played for the New Jersey Devils until 1999. Before ultimately winding up in Tampa Bay, Andreychuk played short stints with the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, and Colorado Avalanche.  Becoming part of the Tampa Bay Lightning was regarded as a controversial move as they were not a contender for the Stanley Cup.  This was good for the team as it delivered some much-needed veteran leadership.  He continued to refuse trade offers citing his work with Tampa was not yet finished.  In 2002-2003, Andreychuk was appointed captain and he led the team to the first Stanley Cup playoff in seven seasons.  The following year he led the team to the first win in franchise history.  In 2006, he was waived by the team ending his playing career.  Later in the year he became the Community Representative for the Lightnings.
