Doug Jarvis is a retired ice hockey player.  He played the position centre for the Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and the Hartford Whalers.  Jarvis currently holds the spot for player with most consecutive games.  Jarvis did not miss a single regular season game in his entire career.

Jarvis was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs first in 1975 but he did not play a single game with them.  Very soon after being drafted he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens.  Jarvis started his career there and played with Montreal for seven years winning four Stanley Cup Championships.

Before the 1982-83 season Jarvis was traded to the Capitals along with quite a few teammates.  The players turned Washington into a Stanley Cup contender team.  In 1983-84, Jarvis was awarded the Franke J. Selke Trophy.  Halfway through the next season Jarvis was traded again to the Hartford Whalers.  With them Jarvis won the Bill Masterson Trophy.  In the season 1987-88, Jarvis was sent down to the minors and then he retired.  After his playing career Jarvis became a coach and assistant coach.
