Learn More about Gabriel Landeskog:
Chosen second overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche, forward Gabriel Landeskog, made the roster for the 2011-2012 season. Landeskog finished his rookie season with 52 points, 22 of which were goals, resulting in him being awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2012 for Rookie of the Year. In September of 2012 Landeskog was named captain of the Colorado Avalanche, making him the youngest captain in history until Conner McDavid became captain of the Oilers in 2016. Due to the 2012-2013 lockout, Landeskog was unable to play as captain until January 19th, 2013. The 2012-2013 season was a struggle for both Colorado and Landeskog who only played 36 games due to head and leg injuries, minimizing his scoring to 9 goals and 8 assists. Despite this he was signed for a seven-year extension by Colorado. The 2013-2014 season proved to be very successful as he put up career highs in goals, assists, and points.
