Jari Kurri, also known as the Finnish Flash, was part of dynamic scoring duo alongside the Great One, Wayne Gretzky.  Jari Kurri played with Edmonton Oilers for 10 seasons winning 5 Stanley Cup Championships in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1990.

Jari Kurri was reunited with Gretzky when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1991 where he played until 1996 when he was traded to the New York Rangers before the play off.  Kurri also played for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the Colorado Avalanche.

Jari Kurri was the first Finnish player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001.  He finished his career as the highest scoring European born player in the NHL with 601 goals, 797 assists and 1398 points.  He is third in all time play off points with 106 goals and 233 playoff points behind Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.  His number 17 has been retired by not only the Edmonton Oilers but also the Finnish National Team and team Jokerit of the first Finnish KHL league.

After retirement Jari Kurri became GM of the Finnish National Team and later on GM of Jokerit.
