Marcel Dionne is an NHL Hall of Famer that retired in 1989 after playing 18 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings, LA Kings and New York Rangers. He was drafted in 1971, second overall by the Detroit Red Wings where he played for 4 seasons.
Marcel Dionne was traded to the Los Angeles Kings where he played on the Triple Crown Line with teammates Charlie Simmer and Dave Taylor. Despite his successful on ice performance during the regular season, Marcel Dionne and his team never made it past the second round in three playoff appearances.
Marcel Dionne was traded to the New York Rangers where he was reunited with his minor league teammate Guy Lafleur. Dionne played another two and a half seasons with the Rangers, before announcing his retirement in 1989.
Despite not winning a Stanley Cup Championship, Marcel Dionne was a gifted hockey player with many notable achievements. Dionne ranks third in the NHL for most 100+ points season with 8, behind Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. He ranks 5th in all time goals scored with 731 and finished his career with 1771 points.
