Learn More about Pekka Rinne:

Pekka Rinne is a Finnish goaltender currently playing for the Nashville Predators, by whom he was drafted in 2004.  His large size at 6’5” perfectly suits him to the goaltending position as well as his lightning quick reflexes and butterfly style, he covers a lot of net.

Pekka Rinne was called up from Nashville’s AHL affiliate in 2007 to serve as backup goaltender to Dan Ellis.  By December, Rinne had become only the second Predators’ goaltender to ever record a shutout.  In February he won 9 of 12 games, and was selected NHL Rookie of the Month for his performance.

During the 2010-2011 season, Rinne returned from injury to have some of the best performances of his career thus far, finishing the season as a finalist for the Vezina and Hart Memorial Trophies as well as being named to the Second NHL All-Star Team.  He led his team to their first ever Stanley Cup Playoff Series win and by the conclusion of the series had set a franchise record for 22 shutouts.  In the 2015-2016 playoffs, Rinne led his Predators to the finals, losing in game 7 of the second round to the Anaheim Ducks.  Rinne continues to be a vital part of Nashville’s success and we look forward to Pekka Rinne one day hoisting the Stanley Cup.
