Sergei Zubov is a Russian born defenseman that played in the NHL from 1988-2010 with the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Dallas Stars.  Zubov is considered one of the best offensive defenseman in NHL history who, at his peak earned 89 points in a single season.  In 1994, Sergei Zubov won his first Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers and along with three other teammates became the first Russian born players to have their name engraved on the Stanley Cup.

Zubov was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins where he briefly played before being traded to the Dallas Stars.  He played in Dallas for another 11 seasons, consistently having 40+ point seasons.  He won his second Stanley Cup with the Dallas Stars in 1999.

In 2009, Sergei Zubov left the NHL to join the KHL where he played for the SKA St. Petersburg.  In 2015, Zubov joined the Russian national team as a defensive assistant.
