Learn More about Vic Hadfield:

Vic Hadfield made it to the NHL as a rugged enforcer for the New York Rangers in 1959.  He posted triple digit penalty numbers and led the league in 1963-1964 with 151 penalty minutes.  As Hadfield’s career progressed with the Rangers, he was put on the same line with Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert.  This line would become known as the Goal a Game line and Hadfield’s focuses shifted scoring.  Vic Hadfield was an example of one player doing it all as his points totals came closer to matching his penalty minutes.  In 1971-1972, he had his career best season with 50 goals, 106 points and 142 PIM.  He became captain of the New York Rangers the following season and was also chosen to play in the 1972 Summit Series.  Hadfield was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for the start of the 1974 season where he played for 2 seasons before a knee injury ended his career.
