Mike Babcock has been serving as an NHL head coach since 2002 when he was named head coach of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.  He coached the Detroit Red Wings for 10 seasons and is the current coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mike Babcock is an excellent coach that plays his teams strategically focusing on the best matchups and line combination.  He focuses on skill and puck possession and has the lowest penalty numbers in the league.

In only two seasons with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks he led them to the Stanley Cup finals in 2003 where they lost in game 7 to the New Jersey Devils.  Mike Babcock is best known for his time spent with the Detroit Red Wings.   He led them to the playoffs every season during his 10 year tenure with the team and won the Stanley Cup in 2008.

Internationally, Mike Babcock has been coach for Team Canada and is the only coach to be a member of the Triple Gold Cup with a Stanley Cup under his belt, a gold medal at the IIHC Ice Hockey World Championships in 2004 and gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
