Steve Larmer was an NHL ironman that played in 884 consecutive games for the Chicago Blackhawks setting an NHL record for most consecutive games with the same team. The talented forward was an all-around player, a skilled playmaker, consistent goal scorer, a good defenseman and a natural leader. As a rookie, he played on one of the top lines in the NHL with Denis Savard and Al Secord, scoring 43 goals and 90 points for the Calder Trophy. He played for the Blackhawks from 1982-1993 when he was traded to the New York Rangers. Larmer helped the Rangers to hockey’s greatest prize, winning their first Stanley Cup since 1940 as he contributed 21 goals to have his name engraved as a 1994 Stanley Cup Champion. Steve Larmer retired the following year after playing just over 1000 games in the NHL and scoring 1000 points.
