From 1967-1971 Jocelyn Guevremont played for the minor leagues in Montreal where he was a distinguished young defenseman, playing on both Second and First All-Star teams in consecutive years. In 1971 he won the Max Kaminsky Trophy for most outstanding defenseman in the OHL. Later that year he was chosen third overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1971 NHL Entry Draft. Over the course of nine seasons he played for the Canucks, the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers. In 1972 he played for Team Canada in the Summit Series and in 1974 he played in a NHL All-Star team. He retired in 1980 due to a chronic shoulder problem. He coached briefly for two teams in the QMJHL until 1984.
