Learn More about Dave Keon: Dave Keon was an NHL center most known for his years spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he played for 15 seasons from 1960 to 1975. He joined the Leafs at the tender age of 19 and he took the league by storm winning rookie of the year and the Calder Memorial Trophy with 20 goals and 45 total points. He was the Leafs’ leading goal scorer for 5 seasons and one of the best defensive forwards of his time. Dave Keon won four Stanley Cup Championships with the Leafs organization as well as playoff MVP in the 1967 Stanley Cup Final. Despite Dave Keon’s talent and success on the ice, bitter disputes with Toronto Maple Leafs ownership and management saw Keon move to the WHA in 1975. He played for the Minnesota Fighting Saints and Indianapolis Racers before returning to the NHL in 1977-1978 to play alongside Gordie Howe for the New England Whalers (renamed the Hartford Whalers in 1979). Dave Keon did eventually reconcile his relationship with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was commemorated with a statue on Legends Row alongside other Leaf legends. In 2016, Keon’s number 14 was retired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986. He was known as the “Pocket Rocket,” the younger brother of Maurice “the Rocket” Richard, due to his smaller stature. Despite his size, Henri Richard was a fast skater with excellent stick handling and play making abilities. Henri Richard made his mark in the NHL as the only player to win 11 Stanley Cup Championships including 5 consecutive Cups beginning with his rookie year. Career wise he scored two Stanley Cup winning goals for the Montreal Canadiens in 1966 and 1971. He earned a Bill Masterson Trophy in 1974 where he was honored for his 11 Cups and his dedication and perseverance to the game of hockey. Henri Richard succeeded Jean Beliveau as captain of the Montreal Canadiens in 1971 until his retirement in 1975. His 1256 games played are a franchise record for any player in a Canadiens uniform. Twice he topped the league with assists and finished his career with 366 goals and 688 assists. His number 16 was retired in 1976 and Henri Richard entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979.
