Learn More About Bob Sauvé: Bob Sauvé was a professional ice hockey player.  A goaltender that played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils. Sauvé was originally drafted in 1975 by the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted the same year by the Cincinnati Stingers of the WHA but Sauvé’s ambition was to play in the NHL.  The Sabres selected three goaltenders Sauvé being one of the more notable ones.  Sauvé played four games with the Sabres that season but he spent most of his time with the AHL's Rhode Island Reds.  The next few seasons Sauvé split time with the Hershey Bears and the Sabres. In 1978-1979, Sauvé entered training camp determined to make good in the NHL however he suffered some injuries and began the season with Hershey.  Later, he was called up to the Sabres permanently.  Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards made an impact on the Sabres.  In 1979-1980 Sauvé led in goals against average and was the co-recipient of the Vezina Trophy. In 1981, Sauvé was traded to the Red Wings but he resigned with the Sabres in 1982.  He was then traded again to Calgary.  There he met Tom Barrasso and they shared the William M Jennings Trophy for a few seasons.  Sauvé spent two seasons with the Black Hawks before ending his career with the Devils in 1989. Learn More About Ed Olczyk: Ed Olczyk was professional ice hockey player that played center for the Chicago Blackhawks, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and the Pittsburgh Penguins during his 16 season career.  He was drafted 3rd overall in the 1984 Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.  He scored his first NHL goal in his first game with the Blackhawks.  With the Blackhawks, he was part of the Clydesdale line with wingers Troy Murray and Curtis Fraser, a nickname given to them because each one weighed in at 200 plus pounds. In 1987, he was traded to Toronto and in 1990 he was traded again to the Winnipeg Jets. In 1992 he became a member of the New York Rangers where he was part of the 1994 Stanley Cup Championship team. Ed Olczyk played for the Jets a second time, with the Kings and Penguins before ending his career with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2000. Following his playing career Ed Olczyk became a color analyst for the Pittsburgh Penguins.  He served as head coach of the Penguins from 2003-2005.  He is currently a color commentator for the Chicago Blackhawks .  In August 2017, Ed Olczyk was diagnosed with colon cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.  He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012. Housley also played more NHL games than anyone else without winning a Stanley Cup, although he came close with Washington in 1998.  In 2000, Housley played his 1257th NHL game and had the spot for most games played by an American.  He held the title until Chris Chelios broke that record almost 7 years after. As a coach, Housley did pretty well.  One of his biggest accomplishments would be coaching Team U.S.A. to a gold medal in 2013. Phil Housley was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015, the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame in 2007.
