He signed with the Blackhawks in 1989 after not being picked in the draft. Ed Belfour was named starting goalie for the 1990-91 season. In the 74 games played, Belfour had 43 wins, earning the NHL rookie record as well as Blackhawk team record. The finished the season leading the league in Wins, Save % and GAA. Evgeni Malkin began his career with his hometown club in Russia called Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Evgeni Malkin was drafted second overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2004 NHL Draft. Evgeni Malkin began playing for the Penguins in the 2006-07 season.
