Patrick Marleau has been a career long player for the San Jose Sharks, joining the team in the 1997 Entry Draft, the second pick overall. He was the youngest player in his draft class and immediately joined the NHL the following season. He has played in over 1400 regular season games and is the youngest player to do so, as well as one of only 5 players in the NHL to do so with one team.
Patrick Marleau was the captain of the San Jose Sharks from 2004-2009 and holds many franchise records including goals scored, power play goals, points, shots and games played. Marleau’s lightning quick speed and deadly shot has made him a significant offensive force for the Sharks. In 2016, the San Jose Sharks along with Patrick Marleau will be making their first ever appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Internationally, Patrick Marleau is a member of Team Canada, winning four gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games, the 2004 World Cup, and the 2003 World Championships. He also won a silver medal at the 2005 World Championships.
