Learn more about Joe Mullen: Joe Mullen is an American born player who played 16 season the National Hockey League with the St Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Boston Bruins from 1980-1997. Joe Mullen has won three Stanley Cups. One with the 1989 Calgary Flames and two more with the 1991 and 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins. Undrafted Joe Mullen began his career with the St Louis Blues scoring his first two career goals against the Minnesota North Stars on January 5, 1981. They came eight seconds apart and set a Blues franchise record for the two fastest goals by one player. On February 1, 1986 Joe Mullen was traded from the St Louis Blues to Calgary Flames where he quickly established himself as a fan favorite, scoring 38 points in 29 games to end the 1986 regular season. In 1989, Joe Mullen led the Calgary Flames to the Stanley Cup with 16 goals and 8 assists. Joe Mullen was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 16, 1990, playing 5 season and winning two more Stanley Cups with Mario Lemieux and company. During the 1995-96 season Mullen did play one year with the Boston Bruins before returning to the Penguins the following season, where he scored his 500th career goal against the Colorado Avalanche on March 14, 1997. Mark Recchi played for the Carolina Hurricanes for the 2005-06 season where he would go on to win his second Stanley Cup Championship against his former team the Pittsburgh Penguins. In 2010-11, Recchi played for the Boston Bruins where he won his third Stanley Cup and became the oldest player ever to score a game at the Cup Final at the age of 43. Mark Recchi announced his retirement during the post game cup celebration. He finished his career as the 13th player in NHL history to score more the 1500 points. Learn More about Tom Barrasso: Tom Barrasso took the NHL by storm when he was drafted straight out of high school in 1983 as an 18 year old goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres. He was the only goalie to go directly into the NHL without any college, major junior or professional experience. In his rookie year, he won both the Vezina Trophy as the leagues’ best netminder and the Calder Trophy as top rookie. He was also elected to the first All-Star Team. In 1988, Tom Barrasso was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins where he provided the defence needed to win two successive Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and 1992. He became the first American born NHL goalie to win 300 games and finished his career with 369 wins. For the remainder of his career, Tom Barrasso played for the Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs and the St. Louis Blues. He signed a pro forma contract with Pittsburgh so he could official retire as a Penguin in 2003. After retirement, Barrasso was a goaltending coach and later an assistant coach for the Carolina Hurricanes. He is currently a head coach in Italy. Evgeni Malkin began his career with his hometown club in Russia called Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Evgeni Malkin was drafted second overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2004 NHL Draft. Evgeni Malkin began playing for the Penguins in the 2006-07 season.
Evgeni Malkin won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL Rookie of the Year in 2006-07. In his second season with the club he helped lead the Penguins to the 2008 Stanley Cup final and was the runner up for the Hart Memorial Trophy. In the 2008-09 season, Malkin was awarded the Art Ross Trophy as the league's top scorer.
