He was drafted second overall in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft after superstar Mario Lemieux. Muller was an enthusiastic athlete that put his heart and soul into every game and excelled at the physical play, forechecking and fishing the puck out of the corners. He was a natural leader and was named Captain Kirk by the New Jersey Devils. In 1991, Kirk Muller was traded to the Montreal Canadiens where he quickly became a fan favourite, helping the Habs win the Stanley Cup in 1993. His time in Montreal was short-lived when he was traded to the New York Islanders during the 1994-1995 season. Kirk Muller made it well known that he did not want to play for the Islanders. He reluctantly reported to and played in a handful of games before he walked out on the team, forcing a trade. He was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he was reunited with his former Habs’ coach Pat Burns. Muller didn’t produce for the Leafs as expected as he was slowing with age. He was traded to the Florida Panthers where he became a leader in the dressing room, more so than on the ice where his offensive production was all but gone. Muller struggled in Florida and was traded to the Dallas Stars in the middle of the 1999-2000 season. He became part of the “Grumpy Old Men” line with Mike Keane and John MacLean. After 4 seasons in Dallas, Muller retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season. Following his retirement as a player, Muller returned to the Habs as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2011. He was a coach of the Carolina Hurricanes from 2011-2014 and assistant coach of the St. Louis Blues from2014-2016. He is currently an associate coach of the Montreal Canadiens. He was drafted in 1971, second overall by the Detroit Red Wings where he played for 4 seasons. Marcel Dionne was traded to the Los Angeles Kings where he played on the Triple Crown Line with teammates Charlie Simmer and Dave Taylor. Despite his successful on ice performance during the regular season, Marcel Dionne and his team never made it past the second round in three playoff appearances. Marcel Dionne was traded to the New York Rangers where he was reunited with his minor league teammate Guy Lafleur. Dionne played another two and a half seasons with the Rangers, before announcing his retirement in 1989. Despite not winning a Stanley Cup Championship, Marcel Dionne was a gifted hockey player with many notable achievements. Dionne ranks third in the NHL for most 100+ points season with 8, behind Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. He ranks 5th in all time goals scored with 731 and finished his career with 1771 points. He began his career in the WHA playing for the Birmingham Bulls where he collected 58 points. Following the WHA-NHL merger the following year Michel Goulet was eligible for the 1979 Entry Draft where he was chosen 20th overall by his hometown team, the Quebec Nordiques. Michel Goulet was one of the best snipers of the 80s, having 4 consecutive 50 goal seasons. During his 11 seasons as a Nordique, Goulet finished top 10 in scoring and was elected to 5 All-Star Games. Goulet was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks where he would play for another 4 seasons. Sadly, Michel Goulet's career was cut short when a crash into the boards resulted in a severe head injury. Despite, his early retirement as a player, Michel Goulet continued his career in the NHL as a Director of Player Personnel for the Colorado Avalache, winning a Stanley Cup in 1996 and 2001. His number 16 was retired by the Quebec Nordiques and he was Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside teammate Peter Stasny in 1998.
