Learn More about Dave Keon: Dave Keon was an NHL center most known for his years spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he played for 15 seasons from 1960 to 1975. He joined the Leafs at the tender age of 19 and he took the league by storm winning rookie of the year and the Calder Memorial Trophy with 20 goals and 45 total points. He was the Leafs’ leading goal scorer for 5 seasons and one of the best defensive forwards of his time. Dave Keon won four Stanley Cup Championships with the Leafs organization as well as playoff MVP in the 1967 Stanley Cup Final. Despite Dave Keon’s talent and success on the ice, bitter disputes with Toronto Maple Leafs ownership and management saw Keon move to the WHA in 1975. He played for the Minnesota Fighting Saints and Indianapolis Racers before returning to the NHL in 1977-1978 to play alongside Gordie Howe for the New England Whalers (renamed the Hartford Whalers in 1979). Dave Keon did eventually reconcile his relationship with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was commemorated with a statue on Legends Row alongside other Leaf legends. In 2016, Keon’s number 14 was retired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986. He was best known for his stick-handling and his accurate shot. Moore won the Art Ross Memorial Trophy twice, as he was the league's leading scorer, in 1958 and 1959. He broke Gordie Howe's record of 95 regular-season points with 41 goals and 55 assists. He was part of the Montreal Canadiens when he won his first Stanley Cup in 1953. Learn More about Gump Worsley: Lorne John Worsley, better known as Gump Worsley was a goaltender in the NHL who played 21 seasons. Worsley played in the minor leagues for 4 years and didn't enter the NHL until he was 24 years old. He won the Calder Memorial trophy and was the Rookie of the Year, in 1952, when he joined the NHL and played for the New York Rangers. In 1954 he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks of the WHL where he won Most Valuable Player. In 1954, he returned to the New York Rangers as a starting goaltender beating out future star Johnny Bower for the top spot. Gump Worsley spent nine seasons with the New York Rangers before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1963. Gump Worsley's best years were spent with the Montreal Canadiens where he was a part of four Stanley Cup winning teams in 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1969. In 1968, Worsley went undefeated in the playoffs with 11 straight wins. Worsley retired in the middle of 1969-1970 due to the team's travel schedule and his fear of flying. Worsley was coaxed out of retirement by the Minnesota North Stars due to their less demanding travel schedule and their sweetened deal of a $500 bonus per win, and $250 per tie and $100 per shutout. Worsley spent four more years in the NHL before retiring at age 44. He was one of the last players to adopt the hockey mask. Upon his retirement, Gump Worsley was third among all NHL goaltenders in games played. He retired with a record of 335 wins, 352 losses, and 150 ties, with 43 shutouts, and goals against average of 2.91. Gump Worsley was added to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980. Learn More About Harry Sinden: Harry Sinden has spent over 50 years as part of the Boston Bruins organization in varying roles starting from player, head coach to general manager, president and senior advisor to the club’s owner. Sinden was a great defenseman but he never played in the NHL. He played defence for the minor team, Toronto Marlboro Bantams and then in the Ontario Hockey League on the Oshawa Generals from 1949 to 1953. After playing with Oshawa, Sinden played six seasons with the Whitby Dunlops who he captained in 1957 when the Dunlops won the Allan Cup. Also he won a silver medal in the 1960 Olympics as part of the Canadian National Men's Hockey Team. Harry Sinden coached minor league hockey for six seasons starting in 1960 and became head coach of the Boston Bruins in 1966. Sinden was the youngest coach in the league at age 33 and the team finished with the worst record in the league his first season. Sinden got increasingly better and in the 1969-1970 season, Sinden coached the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Championship, their first in 29 years. Sinden retired from coaching just after the Bruins won the Cup due to his rocky relationship with Bruins management. He was named head coach and manager of Team Canada during the 1972 Summit Series despite spending two years away from hockey. After the successful Summit Series, he was offered the position of General Manager of the Bruins—a position he held for 28 years. Sinden remained with the Bruins as President. Learn More about John Ferguson: John Ferguson was an NHL winger and enforcer playing for the Montreal Canadiens during their glory years. His career was short, lasting only 8 seasons. He was recruited to act as an enforcer, protecting captain and hockey legend Jean Beliveau. Although known for his willingness to drop the gloves, John Ferguson was also an effective goal scorer, leading all NHL rookies in scoring in his first season and finishing as runner-up for the Calder Trophy. He won five Stanley Cups with the Canadiens in 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969 and 1971. Following his retirement as a player, John Ferguson became an assistant coach for Team Canada in the 1972 Summit Series. He later became head coach and general manager of the New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets. In his later years, John Ferguson returned to his passion for horses by becoming general manager of the Windsor Raceway. He passed away from cancer in 2005. Learn More about Johnny Bucyk: Johnny Bucyk was an NHL left winger whose career spanned 23 years from 1955-1978 mostly with the Boston Bruins. His first two years in the NHL were played with the Detroit Red Wings before a trade for Terry Sawchuk landed Bucyk in a Bruins uniform in 1957. He became part of the Uke Line with fellow Canadian-Ukranian born players Vic Stasiuk and Bronco Horvath who were his linemates on the Junior Edmonton Oil Kings. Johnny Bucyk set numerous records with the Bruins although some have since been surpassed by Ray Bourque including most seasons, most games, goals, assists and points. Bucyk ended his career as the 4th leading goal scorer in NHL history at the time with 545 goals. He appeared in seven All-Star Games and was the recipient of the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for Sportsmanship and the Lester B. Pearson Award for his contribution to hockey. His name appears twice on the Stanley Cup as a player in 1970 and 1972. His number 9 was retired by the Boston Bruins and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981. He was drafted second overall in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft after superstar Mario Lemieux. Muller was an enthusiastic athlete that put his heart and soul into every game and excelled at the physical play, forechecking and fishing the puck out of the corners. He was a natural leader and was named Captain Kirk by the New Jersey Devils. In 1991, Kirk Muller was traded to the Montreal Canadiens where he quickly became a fan favourite, helping the Habs win the Stanley Cup in 1993. His time in Montreal was short-lived when he was traded to the New York Islanders during the 1994-1995 season. Kirk Muller made it well known that he did not want to play for the Islanders. He reluctantly reported to and played in a handful of games before he walked out on the team, forcing a trade. He was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he was reunited with his former Habs’ coach Pat Burns. Muller didn’t produce for the Leafs as expected as he was slowing with age. He was traded to the Florida Panthers where he became a leader in the dressing room, more so than on the ice where his offensive production was all but gone. Muller struggled in Florida and was traded to the Dallas Stars in the middle of the 1999-2000 season. He became part of the “Grumpy Old Men” line with Mike Keane and John MacLean. After 4 seasons in Dallas, Muller retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season. Following his retirement as a player, Muller returned to the Habs as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2011. He was a coach of the Carolina Hurricanes from 2011-2014 and assistant coach of the St. Louis Blues from2014-2016. He is currently an associate coach of the Montreal Canadiens.
