Seiling began his junior career as a winger but became a defenceman when he made the NHL. He played one game in the NHL for the Leafs before being sent down to the minors where he played for 2 different teams over the next couple of seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers where he played for the next decade. He was a good stay at home defenceman. He was claimed by the St. Louis Blues during the expansion draft but the Rangers traded for him the same day to keep him in New York. In 1974, he played for 3 different teams; the Rangers, the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also played for the St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Flames before his retirement in 1979. Rod Seiling also represented Canada in the 1972 Summit Series where he played in three games. After his retirement as a player, Rod Seiling became a junior hockey coach. Rogie Vachon was traded to the Los Angeles King where he played from 1971 to 1978 where he celebrated some of the best moments of his career. He was team MVP for 4 consecutive years starting in 1973. He was runner up for the Vezina Trophy in 1975 and he was selected for NHL Second All-Star Team in 1975 and 1977. Vachon was considered one of the best one-to-one goaltenders in his era and he never allowed a single goal on a penalty shot for his entire career. Rogie Vachon was honoured by the Los Angeles Kings as his was the first number retired by the franchise in 1985. Following his retirement as a player, Rogie Vachon continued to serve the LA Kings as GM from 1984-1992. He was interim head coach on 3 separate occasions. A goaltender that played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils. Sauvé was originally drafted in 1975 by the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted the same year by the Cincinnati Stingers of the WHA but Sauvé’s ambition was to play in the NHL. The Sabres selected three goaltenders Sauvé being one of the more notable ones. Sauvé played four games with the Sabres that season but he spent most of his time with the AHL's Rhode Island Reds. The next few seasons Sauvé split time with the Hershey Bears and the Sabres. In 1978-1979, Sauvé entered training camp determined to make good in the NHL however he suffered some injuries and began the season with Hershey. Later, he was called up to the Sabres permanently. Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards made an impact on the Sabres. In 1979-1980 Sauvé led in goals against average and was the co-recipient of the Vezina Trophy. In 1981, Sauvé was traded to the Red Wings but he resigned with the Sabres in 1982. He was then traded again to Calgary. He is widely regarded as one of the top defensemen in NHL history. After only one year at Boston College, Leetch played in the 1988 Olympics for the US Olympic hockey team. Just days later he made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers in February of 1988. In his first full season, the following year he was awarded the Calder Trophy as well as being chosen for the NHL All-Star Rookie team. In 1992, Leetch became the only American defenseman, and fifth overall, to score 100 points in a season and was awarded the Norris Trophy. Two years later, in 1994, the Rangers won both the Presidents' Trophy as well as the Stanley Cup. Laprade was known for his determination and strong work ethic and was nicknamed “the Beaver” by his teammates. In his first season with the NHL, Laprade earned 34 points in 49 games and won the Calder Memorial Trophy for rookie of the year. He made four All-Star game appearances throughout his career. He played in the NHL and WHA as a goaltender. During his career, Mio played for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and the Indianapolis Racers. Mio first put himself on the map for professional hockey when he decided to join the Colorado College from 1972-1976. During that time Mio became a standout as he won first and second all-star awards. He also made the NCAA west first all-American team two years in a row. In 1974, Mio was officially drafted by the Blackhawks and the Blazers of the WHA but he played with neither and spent most of his time playing with smaller teams until he went to the Indianapolis Racers. Mio's goaltending was rough with the Racers and the biggest thing in his career would be befriending Wayne Gretzky. Shortly after that Mio was traded again to the Oilers in 1978. In Alberta, Mio got his first NHL action and had his first winning season in 1980-1981 before being traded again to the Rangers. With New York Mio backstopped the Rangers for two seasons, then he was traded to Detroit for a season before retiring in 1986. He was a goaltender that played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars and the Vancouver Canucks. Maniago was originally drafted by Toronto in 1960. He played seven games for the Leafs in the 1960-1961 season. He was picked by the Montreal Canadiens the following season. The high point of his time with Montreal would be a 14-game stint in the relief of the ailing Jaques Plante in 1963. Maniago had a good season with the Minneapolis Bruins of the CHL in 1965, winning the league's MVP award. After that he was traded to the Rangers. In 1966, Maniago competed for the starter goalie and was also given a questionable distinction by allowing Bobby Hull to score his 51st goal that year as Hull was the first in history to do so. In 1967, Maniago was the expanding Minnesota North Stars first pick for a goaltender. Due to Maniago’s play the North Stars were led to the playoffs five out of six of their first seasons however at the end Minnesota struggled. They tried to find a suitable goalie to help Maniago before taking Gump Worsley out of retirement in 1970. After 1974, Minnesota's fortune sagged as Worsley retired and Maniago was traded to the Canucks where he played two seasons before retirement.
