He quickly blossomed into a star player, known for his incredible speed, end to end rushes, his powerful shot and blonde hair, he was nicknamed “The Golden Jet.” Hull finished second in voting for the rookie of the year, Calder Trophy. Hull became a leading goal scorer for the Blackhawks. He became the first player to score more than 50 goals in a season in 1966, ending the season with 54 goals, the highest season total of the Original Six era. Despite Hull being a superstar in the NHL, he felt he was not fairly compensated by the league. In 1972, he signed with rival World Hockey Association and the Winnipeg Jets for an unprecedented $1 million. Hull would go on to surpass his previous record for goals in a season, finishing with 77 in the 1974-75 season. After the merger of the Leagues, Hull played one more season with the NHL Jets before being traded to the Hartford Whalers. Hull ended his career with as impressive record of 1063 regular season games played in the NHL, with 610 goals, 560 assists and a total of 1170 points. Furthermore He played in 411 WHA regular season games, scoring 303 goals, 335 assists and 638 points as well as numerous trophies and award included the Order of Canada, and the Hockey Hall of Fame.

A goaltender that played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils. Sauvé was originally drafted in 1975 by the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted the same year by the Cincinnati Stingers of the WHA but Sauvé’s ambition was to play in the NHL. The Sabres selected three goaltenders Sauvé being one of the more notable ones. Sauvé played four games with the Sabres that season but he spent most of his time with the AHL's Rhode Island Reds. The next few seasons Sauvé split time with the Hershey Bears and the Sabres. In 1978-1979, Sauvé entered training camp determined to make good in the NHL however he suffered some injuries and began the season with Hershey. Later, he was called up to the Sabres permanently. Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards made an impact on the Sabres. In 1979-1980 Sauvé led in goals against average and was the co-recipient of the Vezina Trophy. In 1981, Sauvé was traded to the Red Wings but he resigned with the Sabres in 1982. He was then traded again to Calgary. There he met Tom Barrasso and they shared the William M Jennings Trophy for a few seasons. Sauvé spent two seasons with the Black Hawks before ending his career with the Devils in 1989. Playing on frozen ponds in his native Calgary until after nightfall, Bill Gadsby left home at the age of 17 to pursue a career on the ice. He got his lucky break when Chicago Blackhawks scout, Bill Tobin, discovered the talented defenseman and offered him a contract. After only 12 games in the minors, Gadsby made it to the NHL at the age of 18. In his debut game, he got a cut to the face that took 12 stitches to close. Gadsby was a solid defenseman, playing for the Blackhawks until 1954 when he was traded to the New York Rangers. During his tenure with the Rangers, Gadsby was elected to 4 All-Star Games and in 1957-1958, he set a defense record for 46 assists. Bill Gadsby played for the Detroit Red Wings, hopeful that he would finally capture a Stanley Cup win. Gadsby reached several milestones while in Detroit: first defenceman to reach 500 points, and his 20th NHL season.
