Learn More About Mike Gartner: Mike Gartner is a retired ice hockey player.  He played right wing in the NHL for the Washington Capitals, Minnesota North Stars, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Phoenix Coyotes.  With these teams Gartner played a total of 19 seasons. Gartner was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in 1979 and made his debut that year in October against the Buffalo Sabres.  1979-1980 was a solid season for Gartner.  When Gartner was traded in 1989, he left Washington as the all-time leader in career goals, assists and points.  As of 2017, Gartner is third in goals and points and fourth in assists. Despite Gartner being a skillful player, he only lasted one season with Minnesota before he was traded to the Rangers.  Gartner scored 11 goals and 16 points in the remaining 12 regular season games.  The next season, 1990-1991, Gartner became the first player to reach his 500th goal, 500th assist and 100th point all in one season.  The next season he became the first Ranger to score at least 40 goals in 3 consecutive seasons.  Gartner was traded again in 1993-1994 to the Leafs.  He played with them until 1996 when he was traded to the Coyotes before he retired, two seasons later. Learn More About Norm Ullman: Norm Ullman is a retired center who played in the NHL for the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings.  Ullman started his professional career in 1956 with the Detroit Red Wings.  Ullman was known for his stick-handling, his stamina and consistency.  He was centering the line with Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay.  Ullman's career statistics place him as one of the greatest centers in NHL history.  He had 490 regular season goals, 739 assists and 1229 points. Ullman led the Red Wings in goals in 1961, 1965 and 1966 and led the league in 1964-65.  That season Ullman missed the overall scoring by four points.  He was second to Stan Mikita.  That same season Ullman was voted a first team All-Star. Ullman appeared in 11 All-Star games in his twenty-year career.  In 1968, in the middle of his thirteenth year with Detroit, Ullman was traded to the Leafs.  He finished his career with Toronto then played two last seasons with the WHA Edmonton Oilers. Pierre Pilote was paired with teammate Elmer ‘Moose’ Vasko and was one of the best all-time defense pairings. Pilote was a great offensive defenseman, often carrying the puck up the ice.  The Hawks had floundered for years prior to Pilote's arrival. But with the likes of Pilote, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and Glenn Hall, the Chicago Blackhawks became Stanley Cup champions in 1961. Pilote scored the winning or tying goal in every Blackhawks victory that season. Although 1961 pre-dated the Conn Smythe Trophy, Pierre Pilote was the obvious playoff MVP for the Hawks. His 15 points led all players in the Stanley Cup playoffs that year.. The following season Pierre Pilote became the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks. Pilote retired from hockey in 1969 after one season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pierre Pilote's great career was recognized in 1975 when he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. He retired having played 890 regular season NHL games, in which he scored 80 goals, 418 assists and 498 points. Learn More about Rod Seiling: Rod Seiling was an NHL defenceman whose playing career spanned from 1962 to 1979.  Seiling began his junior career as a winger but became a defenceman when he made the NHL.  He played one game in the NHL for the Leafs before being sent down to the minors where he played for 2 different teams over the next couple of seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers where he played for the next decade.  He was a good stay at home defenceman.  He was claimed by the St. Louis Blues during the expansion draft but the Rangers traded for him the same day to keep him in New York.  In 1974, he played for 3 different teams; the Rangers, the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs.  He also played for the St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Flames before his retirement in 1979. Rod Seiling also represented Canada in the 1972 Summit Series where he played in three games. After his retirement as a player, Rod Seiling became a junior hockey coach.  In 2006, Seiling was appointed Chair of the Ontario Racing Commission.
