Learn More about Nick Kypreos:

Nick Kypreos was a talented winger that showed great promise to become a leading goal scorer when he finished second in the OHL with 62 goals.  He went undrafted in the NHL and signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers, although he made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals.  Kypreos struggled to score at the NHL level but quickly made a name for himself as a rugged enforcer.  In his eight NHL seasons, Kypreos played for the Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers and his hometown, Toronto Maple Leafs.  Kypreos spent a lot of time in the penalty box and was at the top of the league in penalty minutes.  A career highlight for Nick Kypreos was winning the 1994 Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers.  He was traded to Toronto where his career came to an abrupt end after a fight with the Rangers’ Ryan VandenBussche.  Kypreos hit the ice face first after being punched unconscious.  He was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.  After he retired as a player, Nick Kypreos became a broadcaster and hockey analyst.
