Learn more about Michel Goulet: Michel Goulet is a legendary left winger the played in the NHL from 1978-1994.  He began his career in the WHA playing for the Birmingham Bulls where he collected 58 points.  Following the WHA-NHL merger the following year Michel Goulet was eligible for the 1979 Entry Draft where he was chosen 20th overall by his hometown team, the Quebec Nordiques. Michel Goulet was one of the best snipers of the 80s, having 4 consecutive 50 goal seasons.  During his 11 seasons as a Nordique, Goulet finished top 10 in scoring and was elected to 5 All-Star Games.  Goulet was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks where he would play for another 4 seasons.  Sadly, Michel Goulet's career was cut short when a crash into the boards resulted in a severe head injury. Despite, his early retirement as a player, Michel Goulet continued his career in the NHL as a Director of Player Personnel for the Colorado Avalache, winning a Stanley Cup in 1996 and 2001.  His number 16 was retired by the Quebec Nordiques and he was Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside teammate Peter Stasny in 1998. Kirk Muller made it well known that he did not want to play for the Islanders.  He reluctantly reported to and played in a handful of games before he walked out on the team, forcing a trade.  He was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he was reunited with his former Habs’ coach Pat Burns.  Muller didn’t produce for the Leafs as expected as he was slowing with age.  He was traded to the Florida Panthers where he became a leader in the dressing room, more so than on the ice where his offensive production was all but gone.  Muller struggled in Florida and was traded to the Dallas Stars in the middle of the 1999-2000 season.  He became part of the “Grumpy Old Men” line with Mike Keane and John MacLean.  After 4 seasons in Dallas, Muller retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season. Learn More about Joel Otto: Joel Otto was a two way center that spent 14 seasons in the NHL with the Calgary Flames and the Philadelphia Flyers.  Although he went undrafted, Joel Otto proved to be a talented player, twice nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy for best defensive center.  He was frequently used to shut down the opposing team’s top line and best known for opposing Oilers’ center Mark Messier in the Battle of Alberta.  Joel Otto was also a member of the 1989 Calgary Flames Stanley Cup Championship team.  After 11 seasons with the Flames, Joel Otto signed with the Philadelphia Flyers where he played for 3 seasons.  He helped the Flyers reach the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals where they lost to the Detroit Red Wings.  He announced his retirement shortly after. Internationally, Joel Otto represented Team USA, appearing in two World Ice Hockey Championships (1985, 1990); the Canada Cup (1987, 1991 as Captain); the 1996 World Cup Championships and the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Learn More about Bill Ranford: Bill Ranford was an NHL goaltender that began his career with the Boston Bruins as their second round draft pick.  Despite some solid performances with the Bruins, Ranford didn’t get the chance to shine until he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in late 1988.  Bill Ranford backed up starting goaltender Grant Fuhr and helped lead the Oilers to the 1988 Stanley Cup Championship.  The following season, Ranford was again backup for Fuhr but a serious injury left top spot open for Billy Ranford.  Ranford proved himself to be a superstar for the Oilers, leading them to their second Stanley Cup Championship in 1990 against his old team, the Boston Bruins.  Ranford was the unanimous choice for the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.  Bill Ranford joined Team Canada in 1991 as the starting goalie in the Canada Cup Series.  They went undefeated and Ranford was picked as MVP.  He was also chosen as the starting goalie in the 1993 and 1994 World Championship where they won gold the second year. Learn More About Bob Sauvé: Bob Sauvé was a professional ice hockey player.  A goaltender that played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils. Sauvé was originally drafted in 1975 by the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted the same year by the Cincinnati Stingers of the WHA but Sauvé’s ambition was to play in the NHL.  The Sabres selected three goaltenders Sauvé being one of the more notable ones.  Sauvé played four games with the Sabres that season but he spent most of his time with the AHL's Rhode Island Reds.  The next few seasons Sauvé split time with the Hershey Bears and the Sabres. In 1978-1979, Sauvé entered training camp determined to make good in the NHL however he suffered some injuries and began the season with Hershey.  Later, he was called up to the Sabres permanently.  Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards made an impact on the Sabres.  In 1979-1980 Sauvé led in goals against average and was the co-recipient of the Vezina Trophy.
