Shea Weber is an NHL defenseman and current captain of the Nashville Predators by whom he was drafted in 2003.  He made his NHL debut in 2006 where he played in 28 games.  The following season was a break out year for Weber, establishing himself as an important part of the Predators roster, finishing the season with 40 points, either overall amongst his teammates.

Shea Weber continued to improve his game and by his third NHL season was rated among the top defensemen in the league.  He finished the season with 23 goals and 30 assists, setting a franchise record for goals by a defenseman in a single season.  He finished fourth in voting for the Norris Trophy. By 2010, Shea Weber was named captain of the Predators.

Internationally, Shea Weber represents Team Canada and he has 2 Olympic gold medals under his belt—2010 and 2014 where he was also alternate captain.  He has won a gold and silver medal at the World Championships and a gold medal at the World Junior Championships.
