Learn More about Zach Parise: Zach Parise is an NHL left winger, currently playing for the Minnesota Wild.  Hockey runs in the blood of the Parise family as he is the son of J.P. Parise, a former player for the Minnesota North Stars and the 1972 Summit Series.  His brother Jordan is a retired professional goaltender. Zach Parise was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 2003 and made his NHL debut in 2005, amassing 32 points in his rookie year. He increased his output and scoring and by his 4th NHL season he finished 5th overall in scoring with 94 points and third in goal scoring behind Alexander Ovechkin and Jeff Carter.  Parise made the 2009 All-Star Game and was team MVP.  He was named team captain in 2011. In 2012 as an unrestricted free agent, Zach Parise signed with hometown Minnesota Wild, wearing number 11 as his father had with the North Stars.  Parise along with teammate  Ryan Suter were named alternate captains for the Wild. Internationally, Zach Parise represents Team USA and he won the Gold Medal at the 2004 World Junior Championships and the Silver Medal at the 2010 Olympics. Learn More about Zdeno Chara: Zdeno Chara is an NHL defenseman and current captain of the Boston Bruins.  Chara emigrated to North America from his native Slovakia at the age of 19 with one year remaining in junior eligibility to learn how to play hockey here with a smaller ice surface.  He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1996 Entry Draft and began playing on the team in the 1997-1998 season. Zdeno Chara is an excellent stay-at-home defenseman who at 6 foot 9 inches is the tallest player in the NHL.  His tall stature makes him physically intimidating and he is known as a hard hitter.  He has a powerful slapshot and his offensive numbers increase year over year. Chara spent four seasons with the Islanders and another five with the Ottawa Senators.  The Sens recognized his growing skills as he turned into an elite defenseman.  In 2006, Zdeno Chara joined the Boston Bruins and was made captain.  Chara would reach the 50-point mark with the Bruins and in 2011, his efforts were rewards with his first Stanley Cup Championship.  Chara was also the recipient of the James Norris Trophy for leagues’ best defenseman. Internationally, Chara represents his native Slovakia and has appeared in three Winter Olympics including being chosen as the flag bearer during the opening ceremonies in 2014.  He has also been part of several World Hockey Championships, and World Cup of Hockey.
