Dave Keon won four Stanley Cup Championships with the Leafs organization as well as playoff MVP in the 1967 Stanley Cup Final. Despite Dave Keon’s talent and success on the ice, bitter disputes with Toronto Maple Leafs ownership and management saw Keon move to the WHA in 1975. He played for the Minnesota Fighting Saints and Indianapolis Racers before returning to the NHL in 1977-1978 to play alongside Gordie Howe for the New England Whalers (renamed the Hartford Whalers in 1979). Dave Keon did eventually reconcile his relationship with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was commemorated with a statue on Legends Row alongside other Leaf legends. In 2016, Keon’s number 14 was retired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986.
