Patrick Roy Autographed Montreal Canadiens Acrylic PuckPatrick Roy was born in Quebec City and went on to be drafted by the Montreal Canadiens. While playing in Montreal, Roy helped his team to two Stanley Cup Championships. Roy began his professional career with the Sherbrooke Canadiens of the American Hockey League. Roy was drafter 51st overall in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut on February 23, 1985. The next season Roy played 47 games during the regular season and at 20-years-old he won the Conn Smythe trophy. Learn More about Paul Henderson: Paul Henderson was a right winger that played in both the NHL and WHA for the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Flames and the Toronto Toros and Birmingham Bulls of the WHA. His playing career lasted from 1969 to 1981. Henderson was a consistent hockey player with quick feet and a hard shot and this led him to be chosen to the 1972 Summit Series. The 1972 Summit Series was an eight game series between two great hockey nations, Canada and the Soviet Union. Taking place during the cold war era, the series was not just a battle on the ice but a battle of ideologies and a stand against communism. This series was a life changing event for Paul Henderson who scored the game winning goal in the last three games of the series. Henderson scored “the goal” in game 8 with only 34 seconds to play to win the series for Canada. Paul Henderson became a national hero. He was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 and in 2005 with the 1972 Summit Series team. He has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame as well as becoming a member of Ontario’s Sports Hall of Fame. He was given the Order of Canada in 2012. Rogie Vachon Signed Puck-Montreal Canadiens Hockey Puck This hand signed Montreal Canadiens hockey puck has been personally autographed by Rogie Vachon. Learn More about Rogie Vachon: Rogie Vachon was an NHL goaltender that was active from 1965-1982 playing for the Montreal Canadiens, LA Kings, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins. Vachon entered the NHL as backup goaltender for the Canadiens but his playoff success ensured him a spot on the team roster. Vachon went on to win the Vezina Trophy with teammate Gump Worsley the following season as the lead the team to two back to back Stanley Cup Championships in 1968 and 1969 and a third in 1971. Rogie Vachon was traded to the Los Angeles King where he played from 1971 to 1978 where he celebrated some of the best moments of his career. He was team MVP for 4 consecutive years starting in 1973. He was runner up for the Vezina Trophy in 1975 and he was selected for NHL Second All-Star Team in 1975 and 1977. Vachon was considered one of the best one-to-one goaltenders in his era and he never allowed a single goal on a penalty shot for his entire career. Rogie Vachon was honoured by the Los Angeles Kings as his was the first number retired by the franchise in 1985. Following his retirement as a player, Rogie Vachon continued to serve the LA Kings as GM from 1984-1992. He was interim head coach on 3 separate occasions. Seiling began his junior career as a winger but became a defenceman when he made the NHL. He played one game in the NHL for the Leafs before being sent down to the minors where he played for 2 different teams over the next couple of seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers where he played for the next decade. He was a good stay at home defenceman. He was claimed by the St. Louis Blues during the expansion draft but the Rangers traded for him the same day to keep him in New York. In 1974, he played for 3 different teams; the Rangers, the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also played for the St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Flames before his retirement in 1979. Rod Seiling also represented Canada in the 1972 Summit Series where he played in three games. After his retirement as a player, Rod Seiling became a junior hockey coach.
