Learn More about Peter Forsberg: Swedish centre Peter Forsberg was drafted sixth overall in 1991 by the Philadelphia Flyers, but due to a holdout by first overall draft pick Eric Lindros, Forsberg and four other players, along with two draft picks, were traded to the Quebec Nordiques in exchange for Lindros. This trade was a strong basis for the Nordiques/Avalanche foundation. He signed a contract with Quebec in October of 1993 but due to a lockout his debut was delayed until 1995. His rookie season was impressive, with 50 points on offense, responsible defence, and physical play. At the end of the season he was awarded the Calder Trophy and the NHL All-Rookie Team. In August of 1995 the Nordiques became the Colorado Avalanche. During their first season in Colorado they won the season's Stanley Cup championships. This 1995-1996 season, was both Forsberg's highest scoring season and the only time he would play in every game of his team's season. The following year he played in only 65 regular games and 14 of 17 playoff games due to a bruised thigh, however due to the points scored while he was playing, Forsberg earned the team its first Presidents' Trophy. That year he was chosen to appear on the cover of EA Sports' game “NHL 98”. In 2001 Colorado won another Stanley Cup but Forsberg was unable to play past the second round due to health reasons. After getting his spleen removed he decided to take the following season off to recuperate but did return for the playoffs where he lead the scoring with 27 points. Season 2002-2003 was a banner year for Forsberg, now much healthier than in previous years, he led the league in scoring with 106 points and was awarded both the Art Ross Trophy and the Hart Memorial Trophy. In 2005-2006 season after the NHL lockout, Forsberg signed a two-year contract with Philadelphia due to the salary cap imposed on the league. These two seasons were plagued by injuries and surgeries that minimized Forsberg's ice time. After his contract expired he was traded to the Nashville Predators. As an unrestricted free agent, he played part of a season with Colorado, again being sidelined due to injury. In 2011 he announced his retirement citing troubles with his ankles and feet as part of his reasons. His jersey number was retired during the 2011-12 season. Learn More About Reggie Leach: Reggie Leach is a professional right-winger who played 13 seasons in the NHL. He played for the Boston Bruins, California Golden Seals, Philadelphia Flyers and the Detroit Red Wings. Leach was originally drafted by Boston in 1970. He played two seasons with them but was traded along with Rick Smith and Bob Stewart to California. After playing three seasons with California, Leach was traded to Philadelphia for Larry Wright, Al MacAdam and Ron Chipperfield in 1974. Leach won the Stanley Cup with Philadelphia in the 1974-75 season. After a few seasons with Philadelphia, Leach played his last season with the Red Wings then retired. Leach's best season was 1975-1976 with the Flyers. He set a career high with 61 goals 91 points and 11 game winning goals. His 61 goals won Leach what is now known as the Richard Trophy and he also won the Conn Smythe Trophy that season. During his career, Leach scored 381 goals 285, assists and 666 points in 934 career games. Leach was inducted into the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame in 1992. Learn More about Bill Barber: Bill Barber has dedicated more than three dedicated more than three decades to the Philadelphia Flyers organization as both player and coach. He was drafted 7th overall in the 1972 draft. He spent only 11 games with the AHL affiliate before being called up to the Flyers, scoring 30 goals and 34 assists in his rookie season making him a contender for the Calder Trophy. He was part of the power LCB line with Reggie Leach and Bobby Clarke. Barber was driven to become an all-around player for every type of situation. He was part of the Flyers’ “Broad Street Bullies” era but he was never a goon or partook in the violent aspect of the game. Barber along with his LCB linemates played a significant role in the Flyers successful Stanley Cup Championships of 1974 and 1975. He captained the Flyers in the 1981-82 season and part of the following season. Bill Barber’s most memorable career moments came from his time representing Team Canada on the International Ice Hockey stage. He scored the game tying goal in the 1976 Canada Cup vs. the Czechoslovakian team to force overtime and Team Canada’s victory. Unfortunately, Bill Barber suffered from a career ending knee injury that forced his retirement after the 1984-85 season. Although his career ended with only 420 goals and 883 points, Barber’s number 7 was retired by the Flyers in 1990 after he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. After his playing career, the coached the Hershey Bears and was the Flyers’ assistant coach from 1985-1988. He coached the Flyers farm team the Phantoms for 4 years where he won the team’s first Calder Cup in 1998. He won the Jack Adams Trophy in 2001 as the Flyers’ head coach. He was director of Player Personnel with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2002-2008 where he won the Stanley Cup in 2004. He returned to the Flyers in 2008 as a scouting consultant.
