Learn More about Phil Goyette: Phil Goyette was an NHL centre that played for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and the Buffalo Sabres from 1956-1972.  He played his first seven years with the Canadiens and won 4 consecutive Stanley Cups from 1957-59.  Phil Goyette was traded to the New York Rangers where the skilled playmaker continued to improve his game and increase his numbers.  1969 was a career season for Goyette as he joined the St. Louis Blues and put up 78 points in the regular season.  He was also awarded a Lady Byng Trophy as the League’s Most Gentlemanly Player.  Goyette was picked up by the Buffalo Sabres during the 1970 expansion draft.  He played just over a season before his retirement as a player.  After his retirement, Goyette became the head coach of the New York Islanders.  The team quickly fell to last in the league and Goyette’s coaching career came to a quick end. Johnny Bower played for Toronto for 11 seasons, bringing home 3 Consecutive Stanley Cup victories in 1962, 1963 and 1964.  He would win one more Stanley Cup in 1967, with tandem goaltender Terry Sawchuk, with whom he shared the Vezina trophy for best goaltender. Learn More about Billy Harris: Billy Harris began his hockey career playing for the Toronto Marlboros from 1968-1972.  He was the first overall draft pick in 1972 and was signed on to the New York Islanders where he would play until 1980.  He is known for being the first New York Islander as at the time it was only an expansion team.  He was traded in March of 1980 to the Los Angeles Kings for Butch Goring, and the following year the Islanders would win the Stanley Cup.  He played three seasons with the Kings before moving to Toronto for three seasons.  He played one last time for the Kings before retiring after the 1983-1984 season.  While Harris never played for a Stanley Cup winning team, he is known for helping to turn an expansion team into a predominant force in the league.

Learn More About Cam Neely: Cam Neely was a right winger that was drafted into the NHL by the Vancouver Canucks in 1983, ninth overall.  He played 3 seasons with the Canucks before being traded to the Boston Bruins. Neely joining the Bruins was turning point in his career where he was given more opportunity to play and a chance to contribute offensively, not just physically.  His first full season following the trade, Neely led the club with 36 goals and finishing the season with 72 points, more than doubling his previous year’s performance.  Neely’s success stemmed from not only his quick, powerful shots on goal but his also his physical play and devastating body checks.  He became a power forward for the Bruins and earned the nickname “Bam-Bam Cam.”  His first season with the Bruins ended with 143 minutes in the penalty box. Sadly, Neely’s career was cut short due to repeated knee injuries and a degenerative hip condition at the age of 31.  However,  he did have some remarkable scoring achievements.  Only Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Brett Hull scored a better goals per game average over the course of a season.  He reached the 50 goal mark 3 times and played in 5 All-Star Games.  His intense effort to return to the NHL despite the injuries earned him a Masterson Trophy and the Boston Bruins honored him by raising his number 8 to the rafters on January 12, 2004.

Learn More About Wally Stanowski: Wally Stanowski was a professional ice hockey player.  He was a defenseman who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers.  Stanowski played from 1939-1951. Stanowski was originally drafted by the Leafs in 1939.  With them he won four Stanley Cups in 1942, 1945, 1947 and 1948.  After his last Stanley Cup win, Stanowski was traded to the Rangers.  He played with them until 1951 when he retired.  Wally Stanowski passed away in 2015 and at the time of his death, Stanowski was marked the oldest surviving Maple Leaf. A highlight of Stanowski's career besides the Stanley Cup would be the Memorial Cup in 1938.  Stanowski was also a part of the All-Star Team in 1941 and played an All-Star game in 1947.
