He began his career coaching at the varsity and junior levels in 1977. He led the Oshawa Legionaries to back to back championships in 1979 and 1980. Mike Keenan moved on to coaching the Rochester Americans to the AHL championship in 1983. The following year, Keenan got his first high profile coaching job, coaching the Philadelphia Flyers in 1984. He was with the Flyers for 4 years before becoming head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1988 and head coach of the New York Rangers in 1993. In 1994, he led the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1940. Mike Keenan also was coach and/or GM for the St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers. In 2007 Keenan became senior advisor to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. He was a goaltender that played for the New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers. Kirk McLean was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1984. He debuted with the Devils in 1985-1986 before being called to Oshawa. McLean had to compete with many for ice time so he was sent to their AHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners. He was called up from Maine in 1986 and allowed only one goal of 24 shots into the net, letting the Devils win the game. He played a few more games with them before being traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1987. With the Canucks, McLean earned his first Vezina Trophy and achieved his first NHL career shutout. In 1991-1992 Mclean earned his next big achievement when he stopped all 45 shots making it his third shutout of the season and the Canucks first against Montreal. In 1994 during a game against the Kings, McLean became a part of history when he let Wayne Gretzky score his 802nd goal making Gretzky the All Time Leading Goal-Scorer. After that, McLean was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. He played with them for a season before being traded to Florida for two seasons. McLean was traded yet again to the Rangers before retiring. The talented forward was an all-around player, a skilled playmaker, consistent goal scorer, a good defenseman and a natural leader. As a rookie, he played on one of the top lines in the NHL with Denis Savard and Al Secord, scoring 43 goals and 90 points for the Calder Trophy. He played for the Blackhawks from 1982-1993 when he was traded to the New York Rangers. He went undrafted in the NHL and signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers, although he made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals. Kypreos struggled to score at the NHL level but quickly made a name for himself as a rugged enforcer. In his eight NHL seasons, Kypreos played for the Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers and his hometown, Toronto Maple Leafs. Kypreos spent a lot of time in the penalty box and was at the top of the league in penalty minutes. A career highlight for Nick Kypreos was winning the 1994 Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers. He was traded to Toronto where his career came to an abrupt end after a fight with the Rangers’ Ryan VandenBussche. Kypreos hit the ice face first after being punched unconscious. A goaltender that played for the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils. Sauvé was originally drafted in 1975 by the Buffalo Sabres and was drafted the same year by the Cincinnati Stingers of the WHA but Sauvé’s ambition was to play in the NHL. The Sabres selected three goaltenders Sauvé being one of the more notable ones. Sauvé played four games with the Sabres that season but he spent most of his time with the AHL's Rhode Island Reds. The next few seasons Sauvé split time with the Hershey Bears and the Sabres. In 1978-1979, Sauvé entered training camp determined to make good in the NHL however he suffered some injuries and began the season with Hershey. Later, he was called up to the Sabres permanently. Bob Sauvé and Don Edwards made an impact on the Sabres. In 1979-1980 Sauvé led in goals against average and was the co-recipient of the Vezina Trophy. In 1981, Sauvé was traded to the Red Wings but he resigned with the Sabres in 1982. He was then traded again to Calgary. There he met Tom Barrasso and they shared the William M Jennings Trophy for a few seasons. Sauvé spent two seasons with the Black Hawks before ending his career with the Devils in 1989. Learn More about Bill Barber: Bill Barber has dedicated more than three dedicated more than three decades to the Philadelphia Flyers organization as both player and coach. He was drafted 7th overall in the 1972 draft. He spent only 11 games with the AHL affiliate before being called up to the Flyers, scoring 30 goals and 34 assists in his rookie season making him a contender for the Calder Trophy. He was part of the power LCB line with Reggie Leach and Bobby Clarke. Barber was driven to become an all-around player for every type of situation. He was part of the Flyers’ “Broad Street Bullies” era but he was never a goon or partook in the violent aspect of the game. Barber along with his LCB linemates played a significant role in the Flyers successful Stanley Cup Championships of 1974 and 1975. He captained the Flyers in the 1981-82 season and part of the following season. Bill Barber’s most memorable career moments came from his time representing Team Canada on the International Ice Hockey stage. He scored the game tying goal in the 1976 Canada Cup vs. the Czechoslovakian team to force overtime and Team Canada’s victory. Unfortunately, Bill Barber suffered from a career ending knee injury that forced his retirement after the 1984-85 season. Although his career ended with only 420 goals and 883 points, Barber’s number 7 was retired by the Flyers in 1990 after he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. After his playing career, the coached the Hershey Bears and was the Flyers’ assistant coach from 1985-1988. He coached the Flyers farm team the Phantoms for 4 years where he won the team’s first Calder Cup in 1998. He won the Jack Adams Trophy in 2001 as the Flyers’ head coach. He was director of Player Personnel with the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2002-2008 where he won the Stanley Cup in 2004. He returned to the Flyers in 2008 as a scouting consultant. Muller struggled in Florida and was traded to the Dallas Stars in the middle of the 1999-2000 season. He became part of the “Grumpy Old Men” line with Mike Keane and John MacLean. After 4 seasons in Dallas, Muller retired at the end of the 2002-2003 season. Following his retirement as a player, Muller returned to the Habs as an assistant coach from 2006 to 2011.
