He played for the New York Americans and the New York Rangers. Originally, Rayner played for the Kenora Thistles in the Manitoba Junior League. He showed his potential by backstopping the team into getting a Memorial Cup. The year after that he turned professional and played for the Americans however he spent most of his time on the affiliate team the Springfield Indians of the AHL. When Rayner was with the Indians he led the league in shutouts and goals against average. He was named to the Second All-Star Team. The next season, Rayner was the leading goalie for the Americans final season but then World War II started, and the Americans folded. Rayner spent the next three years in the Royal Canadian Navy. He played two seasons there with the teams based out of Victoria. After the war, Rayner signed as a free agent with the Rangers in 1945. Rayner was the starter goalie in six of the seven next seasons. Although Rayner hadn't set any goals he was still one of the best goalies of his era. 1948-51 were his best seasons as he won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's MVP in 1950 after leading the Rangers to overtime in the seventh game in the Stanley Cup Finals. Chuck Rayner was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1973. After 9 seasons Chris Pronger was traded to the Edmonton Oilers where he would play for only one season, leading his team to the Stanley Cup Finals. The following season, Pronger was traded to the Anaheim Ducks where he was also named team captain, leading his team to the Stanley Cup Championship. In June 2009, Chris Pronger was again traded to the Philadelphia Flyers where they would reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2010. Pronger was made captain in 2011 but by mid-December he was suffering post-concussion syndrome and problems with his right eye after being hit by a stick earlier in the season. He would never again return to the ice. Although his contract was traded to the Arizona Coyotes, he is not expected to play for the team. Chris Pronger was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 after playing in 1167 regular season NHL games with 157 goals, 541 assists and 1590 in penalty minutes. He was the first goalie to practice and perfect the now common butterfly stance, as he'd fall on knees, spread his legs to take away the bottom corners and five-hole and let his rapier-like arm reflexes take care of the top corners. Almost every goalie in hockey today relies on the strategies he perfected. During his 18-year NHL career, which began in 1952 and ended in 1971, Glenn posted a 407-327-163 record, 2.51 goals-against-average and recorded 84 shutouts. He was a First Team All-Star seven times, won three Vezina Trophies, was voted the league's top rookie in 1955-56 and was awarded the Conn Smythe trophy in a losing cause in 1968. Despite his lengthy career, Glenn won his only Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 1961. Hall played his rookie season and more with Detroit Red Wings, before a trade involving a Red Wings goalie. Glen Hall was packaged up in the infamous Ted Lindsay trade to the Chicago Blackhawks. At the age of 36, he was left unprotected in the 1967 Expansion Draft and was chosen by the St. Louis Blues.
