He played the position centre for the Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals and the Hartford Whalers. Jarvis currently holds the spot for player with most consecutive games. Jarvis did not miss a single regular season game in his entire career. Jarvis was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs first in 1975 but he did not play a single game with them. Very soon after being drafted he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. Jarvis started his career there and played with Montreal for seven years winning four Stanley Cup Championships. Before the 1982-83 season, Jarvis was traded to the Capitals along with quite a few teammates. The players turned Washington into a Stanley Cup contender team. In 1983-84, Jarvis was awarded the Franke J. Selke Trophy. Halfway through the next season, Jarvis was traded again to the Hartford Whalers. With them, Jarvis won the Bill Masterson Trophy. Learn More About Pat Riggin: Pat Riggin was a professional goaltender who played in the NHL for the Atlanta Flames, Calgary Flames, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Riggin also played for the Birmingham Bulls of the World Hockey Association. Pat Riggin's first regular season was with the London Knights in the OMJHL, his first year in the NHL was 1979 with the Atlanta Flames. Riggin was very competitive about being the starting goalie but the Flames had a three-way rotation of him, Dan Bouchard and Reggie Lemilin. After a while it became a duo rotation with just Riggin and Bouchard but both had sizable egos and in 1982 Riggin was traded to the Washington Capitals. From the season, he joined the Washington Capitals, Riggin had a rollercoaster career. In 1983, Riggin was the number one stopper but Al Jensen soon took the spot and it was he who was chosen to play in the All-Star Game. After this Riggin hurt his back but the team was still able to secure the Jennings Trophy between the two goaltenders. In 1985-1986 Riggin was off to a slow start and was traded to Boston. Mark played left wing for the Houston Aeros of the WHA as linemate to his brother Marty and father Gordie who came out of retirement to play alongside his two sons. The Howes led their team to the 1974 and 1975 Avco Cups—the WHA version of the Stanley Cup. Mark also won the Lou Kaplan Trophy as Rookie of the Year. The Howe family moved to the New England Whalers which became the Hartford Whalers when the WHA and NHL merged. The Howes played one more season together in the NHL. Mark Howe was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 1982 and by then he had become a full-time defenseman. The 1985-1986 season was a career season for Mark where he put up some of the best numbers ever by an NHL defenseman with 24 goals and 58 assists for 82 points. Despite Mark Howe’s contribution, the injury riddled Flyers were not playoff contenders. After the 1991-1992 season, Mark Howe signed with the Detroit Red Wings, his father’s former team in the hopes of winning a Stanley Cup. Unfortunately, the Red Wings were swept by the New Jersey Devils in the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals. Following his retirement as a player, Howe remained with the Detroit Red Wings as a video coach and pro scout, earning Stanley Cup rings in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008. Mark Howe was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011 and is the second father-son duo in hockey history to receive the honor after Bobby and Brett Hull.
