Learn More about Victor Hedman: Victor Hedman is a Swedish defenseman that was drafted 2nd overall in 2009 by the Tampa Bay Lightning.  He made his NHL debut for the Lightning on October 3, 2009 where he registered his first NHL assist.  Hedman would quickly become a force to be reckoned with by the 2013-2014 season when he posted 13 goals and 42 assists for a career best 55 points.  During the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Hedman set Lightning records for career playoff assists (20) and points (23) by a defenseman.  In 2016, he became leader in playoff games played for the Lightning franchise.  In 2017, Hedman became the first defenseman in Lightning history to reach 70 points in a season, joining the ranks of Borje Salming, Nicklas Lidstrom and Erik Karlsson as the only Swedish defenseman to reach 70-point seasons.
