Learn More about Ron Hextall: Ron Hextall was an NHL goaltender that was active in the NHL from 1984-1999, playing for the Philadelphia Flyers, Quebec Nordiques and the New York Islanders.  Hextall is a third generation NHL player-the grandson of Hall of Famer Bryan Hextall (NY Rangers) and son of Bryan Hextall Jr. who played in the NHL for 10 seasons, mainly for the Pittsburgh Penguins.  His uncle, Dennis Hextall spent 14 seasons in the NHL. Ron Hextall brought a new style of goaltending to the NHL because he liked to come out of the net and play the puck, lending support to his team’s defensemen.  Hextall was also a very aggressive goalie which lead to three suspensions of 6 or more games throughout his career.  He had more than 100 penalty minute in each of his first three seasons and set NHL records for penalty minutes by a goaltender.  Hextall was an excellent stick handler and became the first NHL goalie to score a goal, not once but twice, once against the Bruins on an empty net and again against the Capitals. Ron Hextall played his first four NHL seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers.  A combination of injures and suspensions let Hextall to be traded to the Quebec Nordiques in 1992 as part of the Eric Lindros trade when Lindros refused to play for the Nordiques who drafted him first overall in the 1991 Entry Draft.  Hextall helped the Nordiques reach the playoffs and was again traded the following season to the New York Islander where he played one season before being sent back to the Flyers.  Hextall helped the Flyers to the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals.  At the end of the 1998-1998 season, Hextall was waived by the Flyers and went undrafted in the expansion draft.  He announced his retirement on September 6, 1999. After his retirement as a player, Ron Hextall became a Flyers scout and eventually worked his way up to General Manger of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2014. Included with your purchase is a Certificate of Authenticity from Slap Shot Signatures. Learn More about Ray Bourque: Ray Bourque was drafted 8th overall in 1979 by the Boston Bruins, for which he played for 21 seasons as a defenceman.  Bourque made an immediate impact with the Bruins during his rookie season.  He was known as one of the best defensemen in the NHL, not only for his defensive skills but also for his ability to score goals.  He finished his rookie season with 65 points, a record for a rookie defenceman at the time.  He won the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the year and a First Team All-Star selection. In 1985, Bourque and Rick Middleton were made co-captains for the Bruins.  Bourque would wear the “C” to away games, while Middleton would captain at home.  After Middleton retired in 1988, Bourque became sole captain of the Boston Bruins and would hold the position throughout his tenure with the team, becoming the longest serving team captain in NHL history. Despite Bourque’s achievements and success during his 21 seasons with the Boston Bruins, his team had fallen short of a Stanley Cup win.  The Bruins made it to the Stanley Cup Finals in both 1988 and 1990, where they were defeated both times to the Edmonton Oilers.  The 1990 were difficult years for the Bruins and Bourque requested a trade during the 1999-2000 seasons when the Bruins fell to last place in their division.  He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, in the hopes of capturing the elusive Cup. Ray Bourque arrived in Colorado and quickly became a positive force both on and off the ice, helping to improve his team and capturing the division title.  Unfortunately, they were defeated in Game 7 of the Conference final by the Dallas Stars. Bourque returned for his only full season with Colorado where he was named alternate captain.  After 22 seasons in the NHL, Ray Bourque and his Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in Game 7 against the New Jersey Devils.  After team captain, Joe Sakic, took the Cup, he immediately handed it to Bourque (without hoisting it), so Bourque could take the first victory lap around the ice.  Bourque had waited longer than any other player who won Cup in NHL history having played 1612 regular season and 214 play-off games before winning his Stanley Cup.  He announced his retirement shortly after and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.  His number 77 was retired by both the Boston Bruins and the Colorado Avalanche making him one of 6 players to have his number retired by more than one club. Get you Hockey Heroes Colorado Avalanche Ray Bourque Autographed Puck!

  • Glen Hall Signed Puck-Chicago Blackhawks-Mr Goalie note This hand-signed Chicago Blackhawks hockey puck has been personally autographed by Glen Hall. To protect your investment, a Certificate Of Authenticity and a tamper evident holofoil from Slap Shot Signatures is included. Learn More about Glen Hall: Glenn Hall is also renowned as the grandfather of the butterfly goalie. He was the first goalie to practice and perfect the now common butterfly stance, as he'd fall on knees, spread his legs to take away the bottom corners and five-hole and let his rapier-like arm reflexes take care of the top corners. Almost  every goalie in hockey today relies on the strategies he perfected. During his 18-year NHL career, which began in 1952 and ended in 1971, Glenn posted a 407-327-163 record, 2.51 goals-against-average and recorded 84 shutouts. He was a First Team All-Star seven times, won three Vezina Trophies, was voted the league's top rookie in 1955-56 and was awarded the Conn Smythe trophy in a losing cause in 1968. Despite his lengthy career, Glenn won his only Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 1961. Hall played his rookie season and more with Detroit Red Wings, before a trade involving a Red Wings goalie. Glen Hall was packaged up in the infamous Ted Lindsay trade to the Chicago Blackhawks. At the age of 36, he was left unprotected in the 1967 Expansion Draft and was chosen by the St. Louis Blues. Due in large part to Hall's heroics, St. Louis went all the way to the Stanley Cup final in their first year in the NHL. Though they would eventually lose to the Montreal Canadiens in four games, Hall was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the league's top playoff performer. In 1968-69, Jacques Plante joined the team and the two veterans shared the goaltending duties, and split the Vezina Trophy. Glen Hall Retied in 1971 and worked with St Louis and later the  Calgary Flames as a goaltending coach and consultant. Hall was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
