He played for the New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Allan Stanley played as a defenseman. Stanley began his NHL career with the New York Rangers in 1948-1949. He played with them for five years before spending time in the WHL. After that he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. After the Blackhawks, Stanley spent 1956-1958 with the Bruins before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Stanley stayed with them for 10 years. During his time with the Leafs, Stanley helped take home four Stanley Cups in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967. After his 1967 Stanley Cup win, Stanley played the last of his seasons with the Flyers and then retired after the 1969 season. During his entire NHL career, Allan Stanley was in 1,244 regular NHL games. He scored 100 goals, had 33 assists and scored 433 points. He began his career coaching at the varsity and junior levels in 1977. He led the Oshawa Legionaries to back to back championships in 1979 and 1980. Mike Keenan moved on to coaching the Rochester Americans to the AHL championship in 1983. The following year, Keenan got his first high profile coaching job, coaching the Philadelphia Flyers in 1984. He was with the Flyers for 4 years before becoming head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1988 and head coach of the New York Rangers in 1993. In 1994, he led the Rangers to their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1940. Mike Keenan also was coach and/or GM for the St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers. In 2007 Keenan became senior advisor to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. Learn More about Vic Hadfield: Vic Hadfield made it to the NHL as a rugged enforcer for the New York Rangers in 1959. He posted triple digit penalty numbers and led the league in 1963-1964 with 151 penalty minutes. As Hadfield’s career progressed with the Rangers, he was put on the same line with Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert. This line would become known as the Goal a Game line and Hadfield’s focuses shifted scoring. Vic Hadfield was an example of one player doing it all as his points totals came closer to matching his penalty minutes. In 1971-1972, he had his career best season with 50 goals, 106 points and 142 PIM. He became captain of the New York Rangers the following season and was also chosen to play in the 1972 Summit Series. He played for the New York Americans and the New York Rangers. Originally, Rayner played for the Kenora Thistles in the Manitoba Junior League. He showed his potential by backstopping the team into getting a Memorial Cup. The year after that he turned professional and played for the Americans however he spent most of his time on the affiliate team the Springfield Indians of the AHL. When Rayner was with the Indians he led the league in shutouts and goals against average. He was named to the Second All-Star Team. The next season, Rayner was the leading goalie for the Americans final season but then World War II started, and the Americans folded. Rayner spent the next three years in the Royal Canadian Navy. He played two seasons there with the teams based out of Victoria. After the war, Rayner signed as a free agent with the Rangers in 1945. Rayner was the starter goalie in six of the seven next seasons. Although Rayner hadn't set any goals he was still one of the best goalies of his era. 1948-51 were his best seasons as he won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's MVP in 1950 after leading the Rangers to overtime in the seventh game in the Stanley Cup Finals. Chuck Rayner was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1973. Learn More about Pavel Bure: Pavel Bure is an NHL Hall of Famer that spent 12 seasons playing right wing for the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers. Known for his outstanding speed he was nicknamed “The Russian Rocket.” He made his NHL debut in 1991 and won the Calder Memorial Trophy for rookie of the year, finishing the season with 34 goals and 60 points in 65 games. His rookie year was followed by two consecutive 60 point seasons. Pavel Bure was traded to the Florida in 1999 and in his first two full seasons with the franchise, Bure led the league in scoring, capturing two back to back Rocket Richard Trophies. Bure was traded to the New York Rangers on March 18, 2002. Unfortunately, a series of knee injuries left him unable to play and he announced his retirement in 2005. Bure was voted in on June 27, 2012, alongside Joe Sakic, Adam Oates and Mats Sundin. The Canucks retired Bure's #10 jersey on November 2, 2013. He played for Toronto from 1958-59 season to 1969-70 and was nicknamed the China Wall for his solid goaltending at an older age. Johnny Bower played for Toronto for 11 seasons, bringing home 3 Consecutive Stanley Cup victories in 1962, 1963 and 1964. He would win one more Stanley Cup in 1967, with tandem goaltender Terry Sawchuk, with whom he shared the Vezina trophy for best goaltender. Ciccarelli signed a contract with the Minnesota North Stars as a free agent in 1979. He was called up from the minors for the latter half of the 1980-1981 season where he played in 32 games scoring 18 goals and 30 points. In the playoffs, the North Stars went all the way to the finals with Ciccarelli contributing 14 goals and 21 points in 19 games. His solid performance earned him a spot on the North Stars and he built on his rookie success with a team high 55 goals and 106 points in his sophomore season. He left Minnesota in March of 1989 in a trade to the Washington Capitals. He had 651 points with the North Stars, 4th in club history. Dino Ciccarelli spent the rest of his career with shorter stints with the Washington Capitals, the Detroit Red Wings, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers. His gritty “in-your-face” style of hockey helped inspire his team and provided a veteran presence with his later teams. Upon his retirement in 1999, Ciccarelli had played in 1232 regular season games with 608 goals and 592 assists for 1200 points. He was ranked ninth in scoring in NHL history. He is the son of the legendary Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe and brother of Marty Howe. Mark played left wing for the Houston Aeros of the WHA as linemate to his brother Marty and father Gordie who came out of retirement to play alongside his two sons. The Howes led their team to the 1974 and 1975 Avco Cups—the WHA version of the Stanley Cup. Mark also won the Lou Kaplan Trophy as Rookie of the Year. The Howe family moved to the New England Whalers which became the Hartford Whalers when the WHA and NHL merged. The Howes played one more season together in the NHL. Mark Howe was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 1982 and by then he had become a full-time defenseman. The 1985-1986 season was a career season for Mark where he put up some of the best numbers ever by an NHL defenseman with 24 goals and 58 assists for 82 points. In the playoffs, the North Stars went all the way to the finals with Ciccarelli contributing 14 goals and 21 points in 19 games. His solid performance earned him a spot on the North Stars and he built on his rookie success with a team high 55 goals and 106 points in his sophomore season. He left Minnesota in March of 1989 in a trade to the Washington Capitals. He had 651 points with the North Stars, 4th in club history. Learn More About Harry Sinden: Harry Sinden has spent over 50 years as part of the Boston Bruins organization in varying roles starting from player, head coach to general manager, president and senior advisor to the club’s owner. Sinden was a great defenseman but he never played in the NHL. He played defence for the minor team, Toronto Marlboro Bantams and then in the Ontario Hockey League on the Oshawa Generals from 1949 to 1953. After playing with Oshawa, Sinden played six seasons with the Whitby Dunlops who he captained in 1957 when the Dunlops won the Allan Cup. Also he won a silver medal in the 1960 Olympics as part of the Canadian National Men's Hockey Team. Harry Sinden coached minor league hockey for six seasons starting in 1960 and became head coach of the Boston Bruins in 1966. Sinden was the youngest coach in the league at age 33 and the team finished with the worst record in the league his first season. Sinden got increasingly better and in the 1969-1970 season, Sinden coached the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Championship, their first in 29 years. Sinden retired from coaching just after the Bruins won the Cup due to his rocky relationship with Bruins management. He was named head coach and manager of Team Canada during the 1972 Summit Series despite spending two years away from hockey. After the successful Summit Series, he was offered the position of General Manager of the Bruins—a position he held for 28 years. Sinden remained with the Bruins as President. Worsley played in the minor leagues for 4 years and didn't enter the NHL until he was 24 years old. He won the Calder Memorial trophy and was the Rookie of the Year, in 1952, when he joined the NHL and played for the New York Rangers. In 1954 he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks of the WHL where he won Most Valuable Player. In 1954, he returned to the New York Rangers as a starting goaltender beating out future star Johnny Bower for the top spot. Gump Worsley spent nine seasons with the New York Rangers before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1963. Gump Worsley's best years were spent with the Montreal Canadiens where he was a part of four Stanley Cup winning teams in 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1969. In 1968, Worsley went undefeated in the playoffs with 11 straight wins. Worsley retired in the middle of 1969-1970 due to the team's travel schedule and his fear of flying. Worsley was coaxed out of retirement by the Minnesota North Stars due to their less demanding travel schedule and their sweetened deal of a $500 bonus per win, and $250 per tie and $100 per shutout. Worsley spent four more years in the NHL before retiring at age 44. He was one of the last players to adopt the hockey mask. Upon his retirement, Gump Worsley was third among all NHL goaltenders in games played. He retired with a record of 335 wins, 352 losses, and 150 ties, with 43 shutouts, and goals against average of 2.91. Gump Worsley was added to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980. After his retirement as a player, Bob Gainey went on to coach the Minnesota North Stars and also became the team’s general manager. He received another Stanley Cup as GM of the Dallas Stars in 1999. The following season, Pronger was traded to the Anaheim Ducks where he was also named team captain, leading his team to the Stanley Cup Championship. In June 2009, Chris Pronger was again traded to the Philadelphia Flyers where they would reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2010. Pronger was made captain in 2011 but by mid-December he was suffering post-concussion syndrome and problems with his right eye after being hit by a stick earlier in the season. He would never again return to the ice. Although his contract was traded to the Arizona Coyotes, he is not expected to play for the team. Chris Pronger was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 after playing in 1167 regular season NHL games with 157 goals, 541 assists and 1590 in penalty minutes.
