He was a fierce competitor that earned the nickname “Terrible Ted” because of his rough and tough style of play, causing the NHL to create new penalties such as elbowing. Despite his time spent in the penalty box, Ted Lindsay was a great player who scored over 800 points during his Hall of Fame career. Lindsay also won four Stanley cups with the Detroit Red Wings and was named in the first group of NHL's 100 greatest Players in 2017. Ted Lindsay’s first season was in 1944 when he was 19. He first played for Detroit and was part of the high scoring “Production Line” with Sid Abel and superstar Gordie Howe. In the 1949-1950 season, Lindsay won the Art Ross Trophy for leading the league in points during the regular and played a large role in his team winning the Stanley Cup. In the late 1950s Lindsay also helped organize the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA). This was a huge factor to Ted Lindsay being traded to the Blackhawks. Lindsay played three seasons with the Blackhawks but wanted to retire a Red Wing so his last season in 1964-65 he played for Detroit. Ted Lindsay was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966 and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. Also, Ted Lindsay's #7 was retired by the Detroit Red Wings in 1991. Mark played left wing for the Houston Aeros of the WHA as linemate to his brother Marty and father Gordie who came out of retirement to play alongside his two sons. The Howes led their team to the 1974 and 1975 Avco Cups—the WHA version of the Stanley Cup. Mark also won the Lou Kaplan Trophy as Rookie of the Year. The Howe family moved to the New England Whalers which became the Hartford Whalers when the WHA and NHL merged. The Howes played one more season together in the NHL. After the 1991-1992 season, Mark Howe signed with the Detroit Red Wings, his father’s former team in the hopes of winning a Stanley Cup. Unfortunately, the Red Wings were swept by the New Jersey Devils in the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals. Following his retirement as a player, Howe remained with the Detroit Red Wings as a video coach and pro scout, earning Stanley Cup rings in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008. Rick Middleton Boston Bruins Signed Photo Hockey Action 8x10 This Rick Middleton Boston Bruins Signed Photo Hockey Action 8x10 has been personally autographed by Mr. Middleton. Included with your purchase is a Certificate of Authenticity from Slapshot Signatures. Learn More about Rick Middleton: Rick Middleton was a right winger that played in the NHL from 1974-1988 for the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins. Middleton had a strong rookie season with the Rangers but at the end of the second season was traded to the Boston Bruins in what sportswriters called one of the most lopsided deals in NHL history. Rick Middleton was traded to Bruins for Ken Hodge, a veteran player. Hodge would only play one season with the Rangers before putting up his skates. Middleton, on the other hand, was a young player at the beginning of his career and would spend the next twelve seasons in a Bruins uniform. Coach Don Cherry helped develop Rick Middleton into a solid two way forward who was strong on both the power play and the penalty kill. Middleton had five straight forty goal and 90 point seasons and finished his tenure in Boston with nearly 900 points as a Bruin. In 1985, Middleton became co-captain of the Bruins wearing the “C” during home games while teammate Ray Bourque captained the team for away games. He set an NHL record for most points in a playoff series with 19 and most assists in a playoff series with 14. His record 105 points in the 1983-1984 season tied Ken Hodges for most points by a right winger for the Boston franchise. He retired from hockey after 1005 regular season games and 988 points. Bernie Parent Signed Photo-Philadelphia Flyers Classic Goalie 8x10 This Bernie Parent Signed Photo-Philadelphia Flyers Classic Goalie 8x10 has been personally autographed by Mr. Parent. Included with your purchase is a Certificate of Authenticity from Slapshot Signatures. Learn More about Bernie Parent: Bernie Parent was an NHL goaltender that played 13 seasons from 1965-1979 for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers. Parent played just 39 games with the Bruins before he was dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers where he would emerge as top goaltender. Although Parent was a top netminder, the Flyers seeking more offense, traded Parent to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The trade proved beneficial to Parent as he got to share goaltender duties with his childhood hero Jacques Plante. Under Plante’s guidance, Parent became a better and more proficient goalie as he perfected the “stand-up style” he modeled after Plante. Bernie Parent left the Leafs to join the WHA and returned to the Philadelphia Flyers after just one season. His next two years in Philly proved to be the best of his career. He won back to back Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975 along with the Vezina Trophy for best goaltender and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in both seasons. Sadly, Bernie Parent’s career was cut short in 1979 when he took a stick to his right eye causing temporary blindness. Although his vision returned, there was permanent damage to his eye forcing his retirement. Parent remained with the Flyers for a number of years as goaltending coach. Learn More about Tom Johnson: Tom Johnson was an NHL defenseman that played for the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins from 1947-1965. He became a starting player for the Canadiens in 1950 and impressed the coaching staff with his durability, speed, stickhandling and accurate passing skills. Tom Johnson’s talent was turning over the puck without physical contact with opposing forwards, leading to breakaways for his team. He was often switched to center if a goal was needed late in the game due to his ability to win faceoffs and accurately pass the puck. Tom Johnson was part of the Canadiens’ glory years winning the Stanley Cup Championship in 1953 and five consecutive cups from 1956-1960. Tom Johnson was left unprotected by the Habs following an eye injury that had the potential to end his career. He was picked up by the Boston Bruins where he played for 121 games before a skate severed the nerves in his leg forcing him into retirement. He remained with the Bruins front office staff after retirement and acted as assistant to the president and general manager. Tom Johnson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1970.
